5 Things Your Competitors Can Teach You

    By Indy Tiger Design | Business Ideas | 0 comment | 27 July, 2018 | 0

Today, we live in an age of entrepreneurship that is strikingly different from how businesses were conducted decades ago. Nowadays, companies use social media to conduct their marketing strategies, they share economies with industries in ways that were simply unfathomable 30 years ago, and this is why, it is important to learn from your competitors in order to innovate in the constantly innovating and evolving culture of business.

Here are 5 things that everyone can learn from their competitors about competition, success, failure and engaging your audience:

    Identify Your Strengths

By observing your competitors, you can realise your own strengths and find the factors that set you apart in the market and differentiate your brand from your competitors. Not only can your competitors teach you what your brand is better at, but they can also highlight the factors that you are dealing with correctly. These differentiating factors will be the reason why consumers will chose you over your competitors and you need to harness this ability until it stands out and outshines the competition.

    Interacting with Consumers

Consumer interaction is integral for building successful and satisfied consumer relations and engaging them in long-term brand loyalty. By observing your competitor’s strategy of brand engagement and audience interaction, you cannot only improve your strategy, but you can also fill in the gaps that they seem to be neglecting.

You must also observe all the channels and mediums your competitors are using to interact with their consumer audience, and make sure you use all these mediums, which will include social media, email marketing, direct marketing, media influencers and others.

    Identify your Mistakes

Once you conduct your research on your competitors, you will also be able to identify your own mistakes while mapping out their successes. It is essential to find out what the competitor is doing right in order to reassess your own mistakes.

    SEO Improvements

By observing and analysing your competitor’s social media platforms and website, you can gain a great deal of insight on their success and failures. For instance, if their website ranking is better than yours, be sure to highlight their keywords by making a list, and then implement these keywords to your own blogs, landing pages, and other social media platforms.

    Content Creation

If your competitors have managed to gain a competitive edge and prestigious brand image in the market with a strategy of creating video content using immersive infographics and media influencers, this is a strategy that you must adopt as well. The key is to avoid copying your competitors outright, and instead, develop a content strategy that is unique and effective enough to counter the appeal of their content.

These are some valuable things that you can learn from your competitors to improve your own business. Working on your skills by evaluating your competition provides a steady road to improvement. Try to attend to some of the values mentioned above. They will help you strengthen your business for sure.
